The Process

You will be working in groups of 2-3 on this assignment. Be sure to write ALL of the names of the students that worked in your group on one paper and turn it in at the end of the class period. Remember to Explore topics and make sure you and your teamates understand the topics that you are researching. You and your teamates will be graded on the the completion of anything that is labled Problem. Remember to "Speak clearly" Use your math voice!


The total points for this webquest will be 80 so work hard and do your best. Remember students that have trouble seeing the text on the websites can hold the Ctrl key and scroll the mouse wheel to enlarge the text on the screen. Also students with dyslexia should come and talk to me so we can install special fonts that may help make reading easier.

Point values for problems on the following worksheet are as follows. #1 5 pts, #2 5 pts, #3 10 pts, #4 10 pts, #5 15 pts, #6 15 pts. For a grand total of 60 points. Answers for each problem on the worksheet Must be written using your proper math voice. (The answers must be organized with proper math notation I.E. = in the right places. I well written paper means that I dont have to turn the paper to read it. Nice and organized people!) If your team fails to be organized you will lose points.

Problem 3: Collectivly as a group in words describe a way that you could calculate the height of a tree in the red wood forest. (5 points) Draw me a picture describing the problem. Make sure to state which parts of the picture we could reasonably measure ourselves. (10 points)
